Terms and Conditions for SkyDropJa

1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to SkyDropJa. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you” or “User”) and SkyDrop Courier (“we,” “us,” or “our”), concerning your access to and use of the skydropja.com website as well as any other media form, mobile application, or channel related, linked, or otherwise connected thereto (collectively, the “Services”).

By creating an account and using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with all of these Terms, you are expressly prohibited from using the Services and must discontinue use immediately.

2. Description of Services

SkyDrop Courier provides a package forwarding service which includes:

  • Provision of a United States-based mailing address (“SKY Number”) for the sole purpose of receiving packages purchased by you.
  • Receival, processing, and transportation of your packages from our US facility to Jamaica.
  • Management of customs clearance on your behalf.
  • Notification and facilitation of package collection or delivery in Jamaica.

You acknowledge that SkyDrop Courier is a package handler and freight forwarder, not a merchant or seller of goods. We are responsible only for the transportation of your packages as described herein.

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

a) Account Creation: To use our Services, you must register for an account. You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself as prompted by the registration form. This includes a valid Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN), which is mandatory for customs processing.

b) Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account details. You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

c) SKY Number: Upon registration, you will be assigned a unique SKY Number and US address. This address is to be used solely for receiving legitimate package shipments. You agree not to use this address for any illegal purpose.

d) Authorized Collectors: You have the option to designate authorized individuals to collect packages on your behalf. You are solely responsible for managing this list and accept full liability for packages collected by any person you have authorized.

4. Package Handling and Invoicing

a) Pre-Alerts: You are strongly encouraged to pre-alert all incoming packages through your dashboard by providing the shipper’s tracking number, vendor, courier, and an accurate description and value of the contents.

b) Invoices and Declared Value: You are responsible for uploading a true and accurate merchant invoice for each package. This invoice is used by the Jamaica Customs Agency to determine the applicable duties and taxes. Submitting fraudulent or undervalued invoices is illegal and may result in severe penalties, package seizure, and termination of your account. SkyDrop Courier is not liable for any delays or penalties arising from inaccurate declarations.

c) Right of Inspection: You grant SkyDrop Courier the right to open and inspect any package to verify its contents for security and customs purposes. We reserve the right to refuse shipment of any item we deem to be prohibited or unsafe.

d) Prohibited Items: You agree not to ship items that are prohibited by law in Jamaica or the United States, or by the terms of our shipping partners. This includes, but is not limited to, flammable materials, illegal substances, weapons, ammunition, and perishable goods. A full list is available on our website.

5. Fees, Payments, and Wallet

a) Fees: You agree to pay all applicable fees, which may include freight charges, customs duties, taxes, and storage fees. Freight charges are calculated based on the weight of your packages according to the active rate table, which can be viewed on our website or app.

b) Invoicing and Payment: All charges will be detailed in an invoice accessible through your account. All invoices must be paid in full before packages can be collected or delivered. Payments can be made online via our third-party processor (WiPay) or in-store via accepted payment methods.

c) User Wallet: You may add funds to your personal SkyDropJa wallet via approved methods. This wallet balance can be used to pay for any fees associated with our Services. Funds in the wallet are non-refundable and can only be used for SkyDrop Courier services.

6. Referral Program

We may offer a referral program. A reward will be credited to your wallet only after a new user signs up using your unique referral link, verifies their account, and completes their first successful package delivery. The terms and reward amount of the referral program are subject to change at our sole discretion.

7. Limitation of Liability

a) No Liability for Seller Actions: SkyDrop Courier is not responsible for items that are missing from a package, damaged due to poor packaging by the seller, or for wrong items sent by the seller.

b) Limitation of Damage/Loss: Our liability for loss or damage to a package during transit is limited to a maximum of USD $100.00 unless additional insurance is requested and purchased by you prior to the package’s arrival at our US facility.

c) Delays: We are not liable for delays in shipment caused by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to customs processing, airline delays, weather conditions, or “acts of God”.

8. Package Collection and Storage

a) Collection: You will be notified when your package is ready for collection. A valid government-issued ID must be presented upon pickup by you or your authorized collector.

b) Storage Fees: Packages not collected within fourteen (14) days of notification may be subject to storage fees at a rate determined by us.

c) Abandoned Packages: Packages not collected within ninety (90) days will be deemed abandoned. SkyDrop Courier reserves the right to dispose of, sell, or donate the contents of abandoned packages without any liability to you.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for any conduct that we believe violates these Terms and Conditions or is harmful to other users of the Services, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions and your use of the Services are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jamaica.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and/or by sending you an email. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
